Best camera ever made, bar none.:triumphant: That 70-300 is not too shabby either. When springtime comes, try that combo on flowers. It is my go to flower setup.

Yep, I'm learning that. Before the D7100, I had been using the 18-55 on the D5300 for getting close up, but one day I had the 70-300 on my D5300 and shot something and discovered the great background blurring ability. The ah ha moment!

Javelina (Collared Peccary)

These are found in AZ, New Mexico, Texas and into Mexico and farther south. Often, because of their appearance, they are called wild pigs. This is incorrect. More information can be found here.

Now if I would have only had a Tamzooka. Ha!

Well I was going to say a Hawk, but what kind? Ha!

All of you bird people tell me. Is it a Prairie Falcon?

It is a hawk. Might be a Harrier since I don't see any red . There are so many and I'm just getting into Hawks. I'm a Hawk Noob at the moment.

Dawg Pics, I don't remember seeing them before but I really never tried to identify any birds other than generically ie sparrow, hawk, duck, ... before trying to get pictures of them. Ha! There were 4 or 5 of these Pyrrhuloxia's in a mesquite bush.

It didn't have the rusty tail, so I didn't think it was. Went back to Merlin and I think you are absolutely correct. I changed my original post which will really confuse people when they follow this thread. Ha!

I have one of these that lurks in the top of an old cedar tree on the edge of my front yard daring the other birds to come out of hiding. I have never been able to catch a shot. Just out of reach and too fast for me. Nice captures.

Yeah defo a red tail, very popular around here anyway, you will notice the red in the tail if you can see it flying.

Had me confused reading on page 3. Lol
