Hi all, I have a Z6 and looking for a travel flash to take out and about so when the better half wants a pic I can attach shoot and go. It's mainly of her and food (she does the fitness blogging thing).

Flash will always be on camera.

Thank you.

I just got done reading a fb thread that indicated Godox 860 works, but the only one that they listed with no negatives was the Nikon SB-5000. I am trying to reach Godox via email to see if they recommend a model.

No doubt the SB-5000 is an amazing flash just seems a huge waste to use just as a hotshoe flash. Heard good things about Godox, Nissin (I40 looks good) and the Metz M400. I believe if using with a mirrorless the Nissin and Metz have a LED Light for help with close up shots.

If you want something smaller, like the Metz M400, then the Nikon SB-500 might be another consideration, or the Godox 350; either the TT350 or V350. The V350 has the lithium ion battery but it sounds like you'd be happy with something running off AA batteries which would be the TT350. The Godox 350, either version, will set you back a lot less money than either the SB-500 or the M400, but they don't have the LED video lamp like the SB-500 and the M400.
