    Lack of communication on lenses

    Why is Nikon so unresponsive and non communicative around announced products? Seems disrespectful to loyalists.

    You're gonna have to be more specific. That said, from every indication NPS is a shambles, something my brother hears from a bunch of pros when they switch to Canon (he's a pro rep). That said, I love my Nikons. My brother tried prying me away but no thanks.

    The comment refers to their global lack of communication, hard to get answers or info on anything...love my Nikon gear and system but my concerns about the company and systems as a whole are growing daily.

    Start with the delivery date with the 70-200 s that people paid for back in Dec....the delays due to Covid are fine, how bout an email for my 2500 that says hey we had some issues then Covid hit we expect to start shipping on xyz date.....

    Which dealer did you prepay thru? If you paid directly to Nikon, I assume you used a credit card? Contest the charges, and get your money back for non-delivery.

    it would have helped if you’d have stated what the issue was in your first post.

    My issue is a lack of communication as I clearly stated....I have no interest in getting my money back...I want the lens and a reasonable amount of communication. Have you noticed people are moving away from the brand...communication is and area easily improved on. Why take an apologist view?

    Probably because if they give you a date and it passes it creates more issues than it solves. The supply chain is screwed and they could be waiting for 1 part or 20. No one knows when that's gonna be solved.

    Dealers on preorder are part of the problem too. I preorder the Z 85 1.8 S lens. After the lens started shipping I waited about a month and called the dealer to get a heads up, and they would not commit to anything.
    I started calling around and in less than a week my local dealer had one and I canceled my preorder.

    I had this illusion that the big stores like Adorama and B&H would be the place to order from. I learned my lesson. I NOW order new stuff from my local photo store.
