LLELA is Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area. It is an area owned by the Corps of Engineers and maintained and run by The University of North Texas. Several hiking trails, a couple of paddling trails, a campground, and lots of birds. And also My happy place, either with or without my camera.

I have been there. Was at the stream that comes from the overflow. Shot birds below the dam.

That's the place. I was on that trail most of the day today. It's the Bittern Marsh Trail. There are a couple of permanent blinds on it but they were full of kids on a field trip today so I didn't get to use them.

The day I was there there were a lot of people fishing. The fish they were catching were VERY large.

At F/10 everything should be in focus (judging by that you were pretty far away). I'm thinking more of a camera shake might be your problem. I have the same combo, and it does take some practice. Also a higher SS would help as well.

Kinda what I was thinking. It was very windy and I don't have a lot of time with this combo yet.
