Help!!!
What filters would you recommend as the most used normally? I plan to buy a NiSi filter holder, and so I need to know which filters I should get for it. What ND filter would you suggest? What other square filters would you recommend, like graduated filters or not?

I bought the NiSi filter holder and a ND10 filter, and a Polarizer II filter. I'm hoping the polarizing filter will be a good medium range, for regular use. The ND10 filter is what I heard is a good ND filter for waterfalls and such.:)

These filters are spendy, so I'm only open for 1-2 more filters if they aren't too high.

Luckily for my wallet, I don't do much landscape. I shoot mostly architecture and event stuff with my 14-24, so I don't need more filters. You might have it covered with the ND and Polarizer. Are you planning to sell your landscapes?

Ok, I got all the filters I can afford. I need to shift gears and go looking for a speedlight studio setup for portraits.

To be honest, yes I will sell some if I can. I'm also going to try selling portraits and or family shots.

Can anybody tell me if the filters I purchased cover what I might need? I might be able to get enough together to buy 1 more, 2 if they are the less expensive ones.

But I could really use some good advice about these filters, please.

Well my filter holder arrived today, but no filters have yet. I got to admit I'm a little scared to open the box, afraid I'll be dissapointed I guess!lol It is in cool looking packaging, and so looks like it should be good quality, so I guess now is as good a time as any to open it!lol ;)

Well I am very pleased with this filter holder so far! It installs easily and doesn't seem like it will ever mark up the lens, something I worried about frankly! It looks like a quality product, and I am very eager to get my filters to try it out!
So far I would consider recommending it, though I need to wait really and try out more than just the fit on my lens!lol :)

You want to be careful using a CPL on really wide focal lengths such as 15mm like this. It can produce an uneven effect through your image.

I'm not using a cpl, and the uneveness is my own fault shooting to close to the glare of the sun. It was a rushed photo so I admit it was done poorly.
Later I will try to get a much better shot, to get a much better idea how well this polorizing type filter can do. :)

Then what type of polarizer is it?

It is a NiSi 150mm x150mm square filter. So I can't say exactly. But it is suppose to do a simular job as a cpl.

I just bought it hoping for the same type of effect, in lessening the glare and bringing out the color, and basically the same as a cpl.

It seems to work, though I think more like a lighter ND filter. I'm not sure yet.

It is called a HD Polarizer. High quality HD Glass gives the polarizing effect without rotation. Enhances color and tonal saturation.

That is what it says on the box it came in,NiSi brand.
