"Through"- (TwistedThottle)'s Choice

THROUGH anything. A doorway, a window, a mirror, a bride's vale, a lens ball, a Pringles can, interesting media, etc. Could also be a picture of going through something, like a car through a tunnel or thread through a needle, etc.

Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes!

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEDNESDAY June 15
This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 23:59 UTC of the end date.

The Rules

1. Photos must be captured with a Nikon and appear in the thread with EXIF info in order to be considered for the challenge. If the forum EXIF viewer does not show for any reason, listing the camera and capture date/time below the photo is acceptable. Listing exposure info, lens & focal length is encouraged so others can learn.

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

3. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

4. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Thanks/Like button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

I still don't understand the start time deal. It is now 5:51 pm, June the 14th here in Southern California. Where in the world are you that's 24 hours ahead?
Anyway, I guess this is good though the exif will show it was taken a day too early.

wev, we go by UTC time. https://www.space.com/what-is-utc.html

In a nutshell that means if you are on the west coast and observe daylight savings time, these weekly challenges will start/stop on Tuesdays at 5pm your time. Once Daylight Savings Time ends, then it will change to 4pm your local time.

Here on the east coast, I am 4 hours behind UTC. But when UTC hits midnight, that's when our challenges start/stop.

I understand syncing the time differential, but why is it June 15th, when it's still June 14th? It's not off a few hours, it's off 24 hours. If the end is June 21, then my image actually has to be made June 20 at the latest or it will be too late to enter -- my 21st will be the contest's 22nd.

Yes, that's correct. Instead of staggering the start/stop times across the world, whoever set up these weekly challenges decided to do it this way and have one definitive time. The time starts on June 15th based on the UTC clock, not local times. And yes, I know it's a pain.

3.5 hours from now is the cutoff for submissions - so there's still a little time remaining!
