"Low Key" (Dangerspouse's choice)

Low Key photography tends to be dark and moody. One great thing that Dangerspouse pointed out is everyone can choose their own subject for this weekly challenge.

Here is a link explaining a little about Low Key photography for those who might want some guidance:
https://www.lightstalking.com/low-key-photography/
[Please disregard the link's suggested gear to use. Use whatever lens/body combo you have.]

Keep in mind some of us will be celebrating Halloween during this period so that might allow members the opportunity to try this. However, please choose whatever topic you'd like to use. ;)

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEDNESDAY October 30th
This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 23:59 UTC of the end date.

The Rules

1. Photos must be captured with a Nikon and appear in the thread with EXIF info in order to be considered for the challenge. If the forum EXIF viewer does not show for any reason, listing the camera and capture date/time below the photo is acceptable. Listing exposure info, lens & focal length is encouraged so others can learn.

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

3. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

4. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Thanks/Like button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

This challenge is live. Let's see what you can come up with to express Low Key. :)

Could anyone tell me if they are able to see this image/entry? I tried this morning and it wouldn't post, and I still cannot see the three images above this entry (MikeW, OldSalt, and Andy W). Thanks!

EDIT: Well the picture posted....sort of. It looked like a currupt file or something, all broken up in spots, heavily pixilated in others. I'm deleting it and will try again later or tomorrow.

Hi Dangerspouse Yes, I can see your image. But what I noticed with my post is that it looks much darker than developing in ON1.
Cheers.

Hi Nestor -

You saw my pic in the probably 90 seconds it was up? Wow! Lol. Well thanks for letting me know it was visible, I appreciate it. Did you notice if it looked really, really bad while it was up?

Thanks!

LOL... No, not so bad. I remember having seen an Olympus. But as almost all, it look very dark.
Actually, mikew's and oldsalt's are the only two clear enough to distinguish what is in there... LOL.
I need more practice.

Cheers.

EDIT: this is really weird. My picture looks all broken up here. Nothing like it looked on my monitor before I posted it, and nothing like it looks on another site where I posted it just to see. Does it look really horrible to anyone else, and I mean horrible? (If it does, none of you should be liking this you fools! Lol...)

I could only see the first two entries when I posed mine yesterday. I was able to see mine right after posting but not later. It looks like Jdeg got it figured out.

This displays fine for me. I cleared my cookies and am no longer having issues seeing the images.

Huh. Thanks for letting me know, Cindy. On my end it looks like an abstract expressionist work done by a disturbed 9 year old.

When my wife - who actually knows a thing or two about computers, unlike her idiot husband - gets home, I'll have her clear those cookies.

While I bake some. That's my forte!

:)
