Just got mine today and sitting here on night shift just taking a few shots, I love the feel and build of this lens, its very solid. The motor is whisper quiet and fast even in low light. Focus so far seems to be spopt on but I have not done much experimenting as yet. Am looking forward to putting it through its paces and see how good it really is, now for this rain to just stop for awhile. Will also be interesting to see how it marries up with the Kenko 1.4TC and if its worth getting a 2TC to replace my old 80-400.

Stay tuned guys and girls will post some photos in here as the week progresses. Those that have this lens feel free to share your photos aswell.

Is it the V1 or V2. We have V2s in our house plus both the kenko 1.4 and TC-20e III. I was out using both at the weekend. You are going to enjoy this lens a lot.

Congrats. I have the VRII and it's my favorite lens.

Congrats Scott. It is a wise choice. It took me a while before I bit the bullet. It is much sharper on the corners compared up the vr1 when mounted on a full frame.

Thanks Glenn, yeah I have been contemplating it for awhile and it seems like the right way to go. I doubt that I will regret my decision.

Congrats Scott, I think you made the right choice. You're going to love it.

I think so too, just need better weather so I can get out and appreciate it more. I am looking forward to getting some pet shots too of my dogs and see how the focusing compares to my 80-400.

I'm also curious about the 2.0TC. I have the Kenko 1.4 and this lens but would like to see if the 2.0 is worth getting. Let us know if you try it out.

Scott, I would love to see an IQ comparison between the 80-200 and 70-200. If you get time. Also interested in the focus speed as well, but sure the 70-200 will beat it.

I have read a few reviews and unsure if I will go with the 2.0TC. If I do then I will definitely post pics and results.

I have the 70-200 VRII with the TC2.0 III teleconverter combo and I love how it still handles the autofocus on my D600 as well as the image quality in my opinion is still up to par. I love this lens and would not get rid of it for nothing. Congrats and can't wait to see some more photos that you take with it!!!

Thanks
