Hello, I wonder if someone would be so kind as to give me an explanation for this dilema:

I own the above lens and have used it satisfactorily with my D90 for some time (still do!). The problem is using it with my D800E... the results are outright useless!

Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance,
LR

Please define Useless???!! Is it a focus issue?? some other issue?? Are you shooting in RAW or Jpeg??
Maybe share some info and even a sample.. take a picture with the D80 and then the identical with the 800..

Yes, please define the problem! I use mine on a D90 and a D600 with stellar results for both. Can you post a photo?

Depends on if this is the VR version or not. If not, it may have ok results on a D90. The d800 will bring this lens's fault to the front and won't produce good quality shots. Its a little soft and not nikons greatest lens. The VR version is actually pretty decent lens though. Still not the greatest for all the mp the d800 has.

Mine is the VR model--as m-faccone said, perhaps yours doesn't have VR?

Hey Pat - sorry for the late reply. I have no other words to use other than useless. I will post samples below. I shoot in RAW
Again works nicely with my D90, but not with the D800E.
