I wanted to purchase a zoom lens but want to confirm it will work with my D100. The lens is a Kiron 28-210mm F/4.5-5.6 AI-s. Will this work with my D100? (I'm new to this so appreciate the help)

You have to find out if the lens has a Nikon mount. If it does, it should.

It says it is for a Nikon F3, F2A, FM, FE, FM2, FA...since it is an older lens, I'm aware of needing to use it manually, but that is OK as I am comfortable with that. Will this work for me then? Thanks for the post.

I also did a bit in my profile.

have fun, some of thise Kiron lens are bargains because of the unknown nature, don't expect magic, but should be ok. I would consider also the old nikkor 80-200 manual zooms, these are pretty cheap used also.

I used Kiron lenses back in the late 80's when I was working as a freelance photographer on my 35mm Pentax, magazine work was done using a Mamiya C330s, but the Kiron's always gave good images, shame there no longer producing lenses, it should work just fine on the D100.

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone happen to know of a website that lists all or most of the lenses that would work with the D series (D100) Nikon ? I can't find one.

Now that I'm a happy owner of a kiron 28-210mm f/4.5-5.6 AI-s, does anyone know where I can download a manual?

I have read very positive reviews about this lens...one said it was even, "The best and most versatile lens ever made". Can't wit to try it out.
