About 70 PapaST...as you can see a lot of double breaks and quick intervals....folks who couldn't pop up were getting hammered and didn't last long or became floating spectators.

Cristobal was firing, still going on but I don't think I can get back down there, much better light in the afternoon, it was pretty challenging to get good images.....
One pro photog sporting a couple of F4's and a 70-200 f2.8 VR and a 400 told me he was done and quit...he said light sucks.

If I take the time to show up I keep shooting ha ha...no quit in this old dog!! Plus I have Nikon capture NX-D to clean up the mess when I get home!

One more, the most important thing, scope it before you drop in!! (the rock garden thing is a recent Rhode Island fav, they are all over Narragansett, especially at the Pier up the road a bit....also a hot surf spot, tho usually more tame, I have pics from Narragansett Beach, will post some soon after I hunt them down....or take new ones!

Sorry, I live in Redneck country. Lots of rivers and lakes here. Some water skiing is about all you're getting around here. However there is some surfing that goes on around here. LOL

BTW. I love how you're mixing it up with the 700 and the 300. Looks like that combo is working out for you real well.

    Ha ha ha!!!

re the D300 she is still a killer pc of kit. The extra reach is real nice - in bright light she is still going to get a lot of clicks! At the rate I am shooting the D700 it won't last long. 300 more shots this morning!!

I am loving how the images from both cameras respond to processing via Nikon capture NX-D freeware !

I don't mean to get off topic but I have to ask. What is the main difference that you see between the 2 cameras, now that you had your 700 for a little while?

Other than the D700 being full frame and having way better high ISO performance it is the same camera. Same exact handling and functions - just a couple of relocated buttons.

I could not be happier, all my camera wishes have come true.
