First time camera owner!

Hi everyone, I finally got a camera after years of wanting one but never got around to it until now. I'm already looking into getting a better lens. I'm more in to auto photography and can't wait to test out the new camera. I have the Nikon d3100. Is there a private classified on this forum? I'm a complete noob to this whole thing so any helpful advice for a first timer would be appreciated

Best advice is read the manual, when you think you understand all the controls, read it again!

Couple that with take lots of pictures... as I was learning the different features on mine, I would shoot a series of pics at each option they described and then went back and looked at how heach item affected the finished shot.
