Laurel : Film Noir Glamour

This was the last of two shoots with Laurel. We did this film noir glamour shoot and a fine art nude shoot. The fine art nudes can't be presented here so this will be the last set of images from Laurel's book.

Unlike most of my work where I use strobes, these were shot using a single tungsten fresnel continuous light for the deeper blacks and high contrast.

Camera & Lens:
Nikon D700 & Nikon 105mm f/2.8 VR

Settings:
[1] ISO 400, f/8, 1/400s
[2] ISO 400, f/8, 1/500s
[3] ISO 400, f/4. 1/1250s

Lighting:
[1] Fresnel set mid way between spot and flood [camera left]
[2] Fresnel set on full flood [camera left]
[3] Fresnel set on full spot [camera right]

Beautiful Robert, excellent work - I seen your work in the past( the other site) and it has always impressed me. Thank you for sharing.

p.s. if you still have that "dept of field chart" you created it be great to post it here :)

Hi Sam,

Thank you very much. If you're referring to the depth of field demo I created, I'm in the process of creating a newer version with two parts. The first will be similar to what you saw, using a three dimensional object, and the second part will be with a human subject to see how it applies in real world portraiture.
