I have recently purchased the D3100,
I am going snowboarding in January and I was just wondering if anyone had any good advice on protecting my camera from the cold, for example best camera bags etc.
I want to take some nice pictures in a beautiful country without damaging my camera.
cheers!

If it's in a decently padded bag you should be OK. Just don't fall on it. I found it easier to carry the bag in front to minimize the time it took to get the camera out of the bag, and, also it's easier to protect with your elbows if the fall comes. Although I once landed right on my video camera after a face plant in Snowbird. Both me and the video were OK, but it got me thinking...

Also, don't take out the camera from the bag when you go inside the ski chalet. You will avoid condensation hazards this way.
