For What It's Worth.... a tip I learned.

A few years back, I ruined an expensive PDA by messing up the female plug socket by trying to put the plug in the wrong way (a problem that has obviously followed me all my life :moody:).

Well, with my cameras, I've solved that problem. The USB plugs must be inserted in only one configuration and in low light, or any light for that matter, it may be difficult to orient the plug correctly. I took a silver paint pen and put a small dot on the plug end and matched it up with receptacle on the camera. I did this for the USB and the remote. I've also done it on my phone. Now, I just match up the dots and I know the plug is being inserted correctly. I'm sure you all have already done this, but it's something I just found.

Good point. Glow in the Dark paint would work too.

It is said that if there is only a 50% chance of getting something right, you will be wrong 70% of the time.
