Tips for D7000 new users

Here's something I found out: When using shutter speeds below 1/250s, when I use the Quiet shutter mode I get sharper pictures. Read somewhere that it slowed down the mirror movement and prevented "mirror slap".

It's been questioned, but it does work for me. Try it out for yourselves.

Enjoy the D7000

Thanks Marcell!

Do you have any tips on how to check the back focus? I read there are issues with that... sometimes.

yes,, I have heard that same goes for using liveview for sharper images (mirror already up).

easy way for back focus is to set up as steel tape at 45deg to the camera axis about 10 ft away focus on the mid point say 24 in and then view on your computer if the 24 is dead sharp and at the centre of the sharp zone say 20-28 in then its fine ....if the center of the sharpe zone is 22 in ..then adjust it
use max focal length and widest aperture.

remember you are not adjusting the back focus distance you are matching the autofocus of the camera to the lens
