$996 with free 16gb sandisk card! Great deal, wonder if something new is comming out soon :)

While the D7000 IS a nice camera, it's not enough for me to want one over my D5100. I've decided that any change from my 5100 will be to an FX format camera. Anything less and I'm not interested. There have been lots of rumors about new stuff coming through the pipeline. We'll just have to wait and see.

Likely. Real question is what is it going to look like compared to the D7000? :)

Less than a 1000 definitely is a great price for said camera. Surely this puts downward pressure on the used market too.

I'd say maybe some good tidings for Nikon users soon

I agree Ted, I'm looking for the next new Dx to upgrade to a more pro body. Hopefully it's not 24mp.

Eventually, 24mp will become standard compared to the 12mp generation sensors.

I like surprises. A D400 and D600 announcement will just top it off.
