Venus transit

I thought I'd share an image I took of the Venus transit last month. I used a wielding mask and held it in front of my lens. I'm not sure if this is where I'd want to post it or not but it was in very low light (due to the extremely dark glass). The largest dark spot is Venus, the other spots are sun spots.

D7000; 70-300mm; f/40; ISO-100; 1/5 sec

I wish I had a welders lens. I got a good shot though. I used 2 nd filters and the clouds.

The thread about Mars elsewhere got me thinking about this, so I searched out this topic. I didn't have a very long lens when this happened, but I managed to get this with a near-IR filter on the front of the Nikkor 55-200mm:
