Hi, I just registered for the forms. I have been using Nikon cameras since the F401 was new (gawd I must be old), but seriously I have owned a D100, a D300 and now a D800, but this is my first Nikon with the ability to shoot video. I have been struggling with the video because no matter what I do while using AF either in AF-S or AF-C the autofocus seems to be going all the slightest movement of the frame, whether it be on a wide angle pan or follwoign my dogs in the park. Is this normal? it looks crappy when I play it back, and frankly makes the video look amateurish.

I would really like to know more about shooting video so if anyone can diredt me to some threads that might help me graduate from pre-school to grade school video it would be very much appreciated.

thanks...

Hello John...do you still have some of your old rigs?

My concept of how video works is get the fastest prime lens you can and zone focus it a stop or to from its widest aperture...but I don't shoot video so what do I know? :)
