You might find some hand's on experience elsewhere. Both equipment are still hard to find. I would recommend lensrental.com. They've done the testing for you already and they all scored very well.
another option, is they are still selling BRAND new Nikkor Manual focus AI lens, for more than 1/2 the price of the Zeiss, and optically, and mechanically the Nikkor manual lens hold their own. The Zeiss lens is just another Japanese made manual lens, so you might be seriously overpaying for miminal quality over Nikkor manual.
Personally, I just buy used Nikkor manual, even cheaper.
Although I've never played with Zeiss glass myself, I've only heard wonderful things about it. I generally advise people to avoid non-Nikkor lenses like the plague with the only exception being Zeiss glass.
Also - I don't think Zeiss is Japanese made glass, it's German, right?
