Current D700's 'Out of Stock' situation

Hi all.
I am a Bangladeshi.
I have waited long for the D700 and finally when I am ready to get one, it's out of stock at all the places I am looking. These include Fotofile (Bangkok, Thailand), B&H in USA.
Since it's an expensive camera body I want to avoid 'grey market' at all costs and buy it new from a credible source.

- Can anyone suggest better/similar alternatives I haven't explored yet?
- How long can the D700 be expected to be in production?

.. .. It's funny thinking that now that I can go for this camera, it's available nowhere.

Maybe you should send Nikon your question. I would be curious to know what they would answer.

The rumored D600 is supposed to come out before the end of the summer. However, you may have a hard time getting that as well.

I don't imagine Nikon is going to make the D700 much longer since they are going to be focusing on the D600 and D800. The price for the D700 will drop as it is sold as old stock.
