I usually shoot in Aperture mode, and have enabled Back Button Focus (only). This allows me to use ether the manual focus (via ring without setting manual focus switch) if I want as long as I don't press the AE-L, AF-L button which is where I assigned the back button focus to or auto focus by pressing the assigned back button focus button.
However on occasion, particularly in family outings and with our grand kids running around, I want to use the camera in a point & shoot mode, i.e. Auto mode. My question is: in Auto mode will that override the back button focus assignment or do I have to disable that before switching to Auto mode?
