Using plug in power supply

Often I need extended shooting times (4+ hours) so I have to use an AC power adaptor and battery mimic. I am loath to spend the money that Nikon asks, but the third party replacement I got simply does not work. Has anyone successfully used any non-Nikon EP-5B and EN-EL15 transformer with their D500?

No experience but I know d500's hate 3rd party power. You might be stuck with having to get an official one. My d750 uses all the 3rd party enel15's now and the d500 has the one it came with and the d750 nikon battery. I'm considering the nikon grip so I can use the enel18a battery but damn it's expensive!
