Lake Apopka, outside of Orlando, FL

This has really been my first opportunity to do any photography in almost 6 months. Lake Apopka is the 3rd largest lake (freshwater) in FL and is a 20 minute drive west of Orlando. There is an 11 mile long Nature "drive" which runs along the shore, wetlands and canals. It is open from sunrise to sunset.

I shot these yesterday, late in the day with the D700 and 600mm f/4 ED-IF AIS on a monopod. Not bad for roadside images I guess, but I will hit the trails (there are about 30 miles of them) next weekend.

Thanks, I will admit that I really don't know my birds. I did find out that Cormorants are primarily marine birds and Anhingas are fresh water
