This is the kind of place where you bring a camera along, thinking that you'll take a few casual shots, and end up with several hundred at the end of the day.

I like how the rocks have been weathered over the years, good shots.

Kind of you to say and notice, gentlemen; thanks. Billy Chinook is an interesting spot. Three rivers -- the Crooked, the Metolius, and the Deschutes -- all end up in the more or less the same spot, with a dam forming the lake. It's a terrific recreational site for boating, fishing, skiing and boarding and whatnot, and, of course, photography. It's large enough to accommodate two marinas, and it's not uncommon to see eagles and osprey cruising overhead. A clear day provides all manner of rewards ... a shy Mount Jefferson, for example.
