$450 refurb D5300 w/18-55 kit lens gives me this!

Cropped from the original image. I don't know the terminology for the crop factor, but this is just the center flower, no resizing.
The second picture is the original, resized to 1000 on the long side.

Yep, the D5300 and the 18-55 lens work very well together. I think you will continue to be amazed.

Yep. Sometimes it's good to remember that the tech in the "base" cameras is pretty amazing stuff. Nice job on that shot!
