Selective Color Help

I photographed a photo in vivid color using manual mode. I then went to the Retouch Menu, clicked on selective and then clicked on the specific color I wanted to save. Clicked okay. The photo then showed up perfectly on my LCD screen. However, when I put my memory card into my laptop that specific photo is even showing up as being on the card? Is Selective Color something I can only do/view in camera and will need an editing software to selective color and then be able to upload elsewhere?

It should certainly save to the card. The file number of the new image increments by +1 though, so it doesn't overwrite the original.

edit: It will increment to the next available number, not necessarily +1. I only had one pic on the card when I tried it. If you have many, it will likely be at the end of the list.
