Auto focus noise

Its been only 24 days , I bought my NIKON D5300 with 18/140 lens kit.
I used camera for 5-6 times in 14 days.
Then after more 10 days , I started the camera , and observed strange sound.
I understood, it was coming only at the time of autofocusing.
Can anyone explain , why this sound comes (I guess due to motors , which do autofocus)
But , do everyone experience this sound , after camera gets old (lens) ?
Is it normal ? or I should replace it under warranty ? (If it is possible)

I've been using a refurbished 18-140 for nearly a year, and nearly 8,000 photos.
You shouldn't be hearing any "strange sound" It should be very quiet, and only maybe a faint "click" when the lens finds focus.
Bring it back.

I would remove the lens and remount it and see if that makes any difference.

Some lenses will make a slight sound while they are focusing, but if one does, it should do it every time. The fact that yours didn't, and now does, is worrisome.

A certain small amount of noise is perfectly normal. There is, after all, a motor that is focusing the lens, and in spite of Nikon's “Silentwave” trademarked name for this motor, the motor is not and cannot be truly silent. Motors make noise, and that's just how it is.
