40mm Micro-Nikkor Settings

In trying to figure out why my macro shots with my 40mm lens are so lackluster, I found a switch below the M/A M switch. It has FULL ∞-0.2m It does not make any difference which setting I use as far as trying macro's but what does it do? The first thing I did was go to the Nikon box to get the information that came with the lens but there was nothing in there but the velveteen pouch. I guess if it was in there I put it in a safe place..... Thanks

Bot sure what you mean by lackluster. Out of focus, underexposed? What camera, RAW, JPEG? what software are you using for post processing.

Give details and post an example of one including all the EXIF data.

m/a is the auto focus. m is manual focus.

You need to post up a photo example with exif data for us to give help.

The Full switch allows the full focus range, up to closest macro distances.
Otherwise, it just focuses to to pretty close, but not the full range to macro.

The switch that I was asking about is the one below the M/A M it has ∞-0.2m for the selections.
The Nikon site had no information about this that I could find.
