Equestrian captures

Today I had my first ever experience of shooting equestrian images, I took the D810 and just the 29-300 as I was not sure what to expect and how close I could get to the action.

The weather was superb and the jumps even though small still allowed for some shots I am happy with.

I am very happy and it was a great first event to cut my teeth on, I do intend to shoot some other events if the opportunity arrives. I am certainly happy with the 28-300 on the 810, I did switch to manual 1/500 @ f8 and let the camera choose the iso and perhaps I should have pushed shutter speed to 1/1000 as some images were soft / blurred.
