I wonder how that would work with my Nikon 1J4?
It just doesn't seem very suitable for birding unless the bird in flight was the ISS!

Would be great if you had a house on the beach. You could get great photos of "people" on the beach.
The only reason i am not buying it is because the wife will not carry it for me

More likely you will need to mount it on a pick-up truck, or if you are going trekking a 4x4 run around.I think you would need a tripod with wheels just to move it around
You'd need a caddy for sure, and I'm thinking hand held shots are going to be rare! Lo!
