how do you mimic color saturation on "miniature effect" in manual mode?

Hi All,

I am new to photography and would like to ask a general question. When using my Nikon D5200 using the miniature effect, the color of the photos come out very well. However, if I try to mimic the same exposure, ISO, etc. under manual setting, I don't get the same effect. Am I missing something here and is there a way for me to mimic the saturation on the "miniature" effect without creating the tilt (blurred top and bottom) effect of the miniature setting?

I think using the miniature effect also applies some other adjustments which are not defined.

Just taking a stab (I'm bored) the main thing between these two images seems to be the first is 1-2 stops more exposed than the second. Here is the first with only the exposure adjusted -2.01 in LR.
