Saying hello

Just a quick intro, I'm new to DSLR's having used a bridge camera for the last couple of years (mostly in auto ) . Having decided to buy a used D300 and a couple of lenses I thought I would join a forum to gain as much knowledge as possible. I have been reading as much as I can on photography and I understand the basics , I'm out a lot with the camera and try to put into practice what I have read . I tend to snap any thing that takes my fancy from boats to birds . so I hope I can learn a lot from you guys and take my photography to the next level.
