Aperture/Depth_of_field Relationship -- Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4
This is a companion to my “Aperture/Depth_of_field Relationship -- Vivitar 85-205mm f3.8 Tele-Zoom” thread.
Here, I'm doing the same thing with my about-equally-ancient 50mm ƒ1.4 lens. Like the Vivitar, this is a very old non-AI lens, made some time in the late 1960s or early 1970s. As with the Vivitar, the correct aperture settings will not appear in the EXIF data, because this is not a CPU lens and does not pass these or any other data to the camera.

I have some cardboard cutout disks that I have made to put on the front of this lens, in order to shape the bokeh. I have three so far, and may make more as the mood takes me.
