Quick Questions

Hey all. Sorry to bother with such a question but I have to ask before I pull the trigger.

I love Nikon. I own a 3200 and two great lenses. I want to upgrade to a D5300 but a few things I read about DSLR and video are bothering me. First, the reason I am upgrading is because I was amazed how the 5300 has compatible video to the Canon 5D Mark iii. I don't have the budget for a Mark III so to have that level of video quality, or close to it for my YT videos, is something I'm excited about.

However, the whole "DSLRs are dead for video" thing is concerning me. Is it really a bad investment now to further invest into a DSLR system for video? I do take pictures as well. Also, with Magic Lantern improving video quality so much on the T5i line if cameras, am I better off moving to Canon T5i with ML or will the D5300 still produce better quality than a T5i with Magic Lantern. I've already seen stock video vs. the two and the D5300 far surpasses it.

Anyway, what are your thoughts? Thank you so much for the help.
