Auto Focus

Hi,
This is my first post and i'm looking for some advice regarding the Nikon 105mm f/2.8 AF Micro, this is the pre DX -VR lens. Looking to buy a used example and i'd like to know if it will auto focus on my D3100. Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.

If it is this one Nikon 105mm AF Micro-NIKKOR Review then, no, it wont AF with your camera (only MF will be possible)... But, then again, I've got a secret to tell you: with this kind of lens, in portraiture and/or macro photography, it is advisable to use MF anyway...
Buy that lens - it is EXCELLENT, and use that "confirmation focus" thingy of your camera...

Thanks for the quick response, yes that is the lens and I agree about manual for macro which is mainly what I want it for. All reviews say it's a great lens so I hope I can get it at the right price.
