Just bought this camera and love it. One question though. When I film something, the sound plays on my computer but not on my TV. Any thoughts?

Audio is surely a cable connection issue.

The Nikon cable is white and yellow and is for old Standard Definition TV (not HDTV). The yellow is composite video (low definition, not HD), and goes to Yellow. The white is mono audio. The white would go into one of the nearby red or green stereo connectors on the TV. It must be someplace else now?

To make the TV connection, you should get the HDMI cable, to have HD video and stereo. The D3200 manual (page 123) says a Mini-C HDMI cable,

It's not necessarily a cable issue. The audio format is not recognised from my Panasonic TV. Plugged the SD Card directly into TV and video showed fine with " Audio format is not recognised" warning on the screen. The reason that it works on the computer is that they can have more of the necessary Codec's installed.

Yes thumbs up with the HDMI cables. I just bought a new Sony AV Amp because my old one didn't have HDMI. There is so much less cable clutter now with just one cable doing the job of many cables before from each machine.
