What is Effects setting?

Just to see what this is i used the effects settings on these two photos.Question I have is what is this?
And was i to use another setting with this?

Are those SOOC? Never heard of that on a Nikon.

Effects Mode from Nikon

If you use the Effects setting on the camera, you get to choose from a variety of effects that you want to apply to your picture. I dont remember the name of the one you used for those two but it makes the picture look like a coloring book. You can also do B/W, Miniature effect, night vision, etc.

hi, these where either a color outline or color sketch. your camera can do some editing to your files and save the retouched file, original files are not affected. I like the sketch effect where you have nice clean lines (i use googles "picasa" program to do this) camera screen is difficult for me to see. i like the second shot, if you have not deleted the file there are a couple of adjustments you could do to the file.

On my D5100 I use JPEG and effects mode. (Camera-setting)
