Are Nikon MB-D10 & D5300 compatible?

Before getting a 3rd party battery grip I'm curious to know if the nikon mb-d10 battery grip and d5300 are compatible? I only ask this because I see certain 3rd party battery grips claiming theirs is exact specs as nikon a mb-d10 but supposedly fits d5300??

I think the MB D10 is the grip for D700 and D300....

I thought so too but I saw a 3rd party grip that said it was for the D5300 but also said same specs as mb-d10 so it made me wonder if I could just buy the real nikon mb-d10 instead

Nikon does not make a grip for the D5300. A third party may make one, but they wouldn't consider it an MB-D10.

I have a D5200, and have a Meike MK-D5200 grip that works perfect. I would assume it would work just fine with the 5300 as well.

Look closely to the bottom of both cameras and try to find any visible differences - if there isn't any, and the fact is that they use the same battery (EL-14/14a) chances are that the inner electronic connections and specs are the same, so it should work well... I don't believe there is any chance that a mb-d10 grip would work on any of the D5XX Nikon models. The batteries are very different, and the D300 has a rubber plug on the bottom of the camera that is removed to access contacts used to connect the battery grip's electronics to the camera's.
