Would that be too much to mod and handle or somewhat feasible? It most likely wouldn't take away from posting, but would be nice for quick "hey"s and a bit of live chatter besides camping desired forums and posts.
Haha, wouldn't know what features you guys actually get (just yet), but for general public? There's almost no reason not to have both. You guys can enjoy a more private, and others can enjoy a more public one unless that would tank the bandwidth too much.
