I recently had the opportunity to take a group class photo for a local college nursing course and here are the results. I used the 24-70 at I believe it was 50mm with my SB700 on a stand camera left above the camera shooting down. I stood on a chair and raised my tripod up to my level and shot at f8. I used the sliding dividers in a conference room and just cut out the dividing lines in post. I think it came out really well although I was a little disappointed in the posing because they seemed to have ants in their pants and they kept shifting around and whining where I stuck them in the group.
