MN snow pics

After the cruel and unusual snow storm last Thursday here in Minnesota, snow clinging exceptionally sticky to absolutely everything, I finally got out today to try a few pics with the D3100 and my nifty fifty (Nikon 50mm 1.8)

I'm sort of experimenting with photographing snow shots to get a good white color. I'm setting my exposure off the blue sky and then photographing the snow, per Brian Peterson. Besides that, I really don't know what I'm doing, so appreciate any feedback.

You are a brave guy for getting out in the snow (at least from my view point, I hate the cold). I especially like the last two, the crisp images and the fact that the second to last one shows a little snow falling from twigs. I wish I could give input on the snow photos though, hopefully someone chimes in, I just have never braved it myself.
