D3100 manual ISO/Shutter control in live view

I haven't yet seen that video but is there anything you can do to remove the really, really annoying 30 second LiveView limit on the D3100? It plays havoc with my attempts to set up nightime shots experimenting with various settings!

Go into the menu and set to 5 mins.
