African Fish Eagle

One of the most well-known birds of prey in Africa, the African Fish Eagle has a distinctive call that some describe as the "Sound of Africa".This large eagle has a white head, chest and tail with chestnut-brown and black wing feathers. They can be found by most water sources from large rivers and lakes to small watering holes. As its name suggests the African Fish Eagle mainly lives on fish which it snatches from the water with its large talons. However it is also known to prey on birds, up to the size of a young flamingo.
