I'm amazed how fast they are growing the D5xxx line. It wasn't that long ago I bought a D5100 and since then we have moved through the 5200 and on to the 5300. The D5xxx series must be made by Apple. Yup, must be, I think I just saw an announcement of the D5400 coming out next week.

It is a good mid range consumer camera and a good price point. I think they are adding wanted options that people who are more used to P&S cameras have had on their cameras. This is a way of stepping them up.
Just my opinion and not that of anyone who matters.
