Autofocus points in D7000?

Is there a way I can manually assign a specific autofocus point or even region in my D7000? I've been playing with the camera for a few days now and can't figure out how. I'm traveling so the instruction manual is out of my reach.

Get in a non auto mode. Hold the af button, its in the center of the auto/manual switch. Use back wheel to set af-a, af-c, or af-s. You most likely want af-s or af-a. Then while still holding af button, use front wheel to select single point. That's it. Use back control to jockey point around. Make sure lock is off.
