Phonar - [fo-'när] is a free and open undergraduate photography class run by Jonathan Worth and Chantal Riekel from the photography team at Coventry University in the UK.

Initially saw the annoucement of this project on Twitter awhile ago, and they're finally getting started with the courses. Might be worth checking out. The site layout isn't all that great, and it's a bit confusing (IMHO) on how all this works, so dig around and read stuff.

Thanks for the mention Browncoat - we're tied to [university] term times which is why for much of the year this class blog is quiet. I hear you on the confusion - I don't know how better to do it to be honest, I'm not a designer and I'm not techy so it kind of needs to do the job quickly and efficiently - I'm up for suggestions. I try to replicate the site in Google+ and Facebook also but its a bit of a juggle - that said I'd be happy to walk anyone through it and I do public Hangouts in Google for anyone wanting ask q's or just riff.

Seems pretty cool. I wish I had the time to seriously follow along as it happens, but I will definitely try it in catch-up mode.
