Beginner needs lens advice...

Hi!

This weekend I would like to use my D3100 at Church to photograph a relative's Baptism and a bible presentation to my son. I'll be about 20-25 feet away from the "action" with low light. I am beginner and not really sure which one of my lenses would be best. I have the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G, the kit 18-55mm, and the kit 55-200mm. Any suggestions on which lens and settings would be best are much appreciated.

The 55-200 would give you the best view BUT the 50mm will work a lot better in the low light. With the D3100 you can go up to ISO 800 and still do pretty good if you need to.

Go with the 50mm 1.8G on P mode so the flash does not pop up and upset the minister !

Welcome!! I would also tend to go with the 50 1.8, better in Low light... if you can get any closer, that would cinch it!
