Hi I have a d3100 and do remote photography as to not shake my cam I purchased the jyc wireless remote from ebay .it has a reciever that clips onto the flash shoe then the remote can send signals or u can direct wire the remote for time lapse or whatever cost was roughly 30 $ us.just a heads up if anyone was looking for a remote
