Hello everyone! I'm Shaun and I reside in Singapore. I'm new to photography and I own an entry level Nikon D60 for about 3 years and planning to upgrade. I want to purchase a new Nikon, and a friend of mine is selling a nearly mint D5000. And I'm quite interested in it. Any thoughts?

Welcome to Nikonites. Nothing wrong with the D5000, as long as it's a good deal. What's he asking for it? How many shutter actuations does it have? Did he take care of it? Does it come with the battery and charger? A lens or just the body? Owners Manual? Where I live, they're going for around $400 - $500 in mint condition and low shutter actuations.

I haven't owned a d5000 specifically but used some in the d3xxx and d5xxx series and they're pretty good.
